The locally-acclaimed senior living community received a new name alongside upgrades in care, hospitality, and dining.
In 2019, Oaks at Douglasville opened its doors to seniors for the first time, offering a welcoming environment for assisted living and memory care. Founded on a commitment to hospitality and care, The Oaks quickly became beloved by residents, their families, and the town at large.
In January of 2026, the community partnered with Atlanta-based operator Galerie Living to improve residents’ day-to-day experiences and build upon the community’s strong reputation. Galerie Living currently manages a number of award-winning senior living communities in metro Atlanta. Their Corso Atlanta community is nationally recognized for its unique approach to customer service, which applies practices from high-end hotel brands like Ritz-Carlon.
To signal this new chapter for the community, Oaks at Douglasville has become Lotus Park Douglasville. The name change reflects a renewed commitment to the original vision of unmatched hospitality, service, and care.
What’s Changing?
Lotus Park has already upgraded resident experiences in dining, life enrichment, and care, but many facets of the community remain untouched.
“Lotus Park Douglasville is the same fantastic community our residents and families have come to know, love, and trust,” says executive director Megan Farmer. Like most staff members, she will continue in her role regardless of the name change. When asked what is different after the switch, she states that residents simply have “more support, services, and experiences at [their] fingertips.”
Authentic Hospitality
With all their communities, Galerie Living strives to create a culture of hospitality and service among community members and caregivers. As part of their efforts, staff at Lotus Park now receive Forbes Travel Guide hospitality training, which is often used to train customer service professionals at 5-star hotels and resorts.
Improved Dining Experiences
Rather than purchasing ingredients wholly from large food supplier chains, Lotus Park sources their ingredients from smaller local growers and vendors. They also take the term “chef-led” seriously. The result: fresher meals, inspired dishes, and more delicious options for residents. Expect more exciting specials and a more comprehensive always-available menu compared to the Oaks at Douglasville.
Proactive Care
Lotus Park has a new, robust care platform. The community has adopted a more comprehensive assessment program that helps caregivers and nurses build care plans. This program includes predictive software that can help caregivers be more proactive without being invasive.
More Life Enrichment
Aside from better meals and improved service, residents also benefit from an activities calendar chock-full of exciting new opportunities for social interaction and engagement. There are events and clubs for socializing and meeting friends, like live music and entertainment, happy hours, and Wine-Down Wednesdays. There are also activities designed to engage body and mind, like exercise classes, and gardening club. Many activities are resident-led. Lotus Park also offers more outings that take residents outside the community for enrichment.
What’s Staying The Same?
Lotus Park retains everything that residents liked about The Oaks at Douglasville, which is why the staff and executive director remain unchanged. The community has simply been given more tools and empowerment to create more good days for the seniors that call the community home.
